The Magic of Dunhuang

As an American visiting Dunhuang for the first time, I was struck by the beauty of the city, its impressive cultural  heritage, and the dedication and heart of the students. There is something amazing happening in Dunhuang. You feel it in the air, you sense there is something growing and building. Something that is unseen now, but one day the world will see this amazing city and all that it has.

      Everyone I met at Dunhuang college confirms this feeling. You see it in the dedication of the teachers and staff. You see it in the enthusiasm of the students majoring in tourism, art, dance, and animation.

Dean Tian, associate dean Luo , Ray and Teacher Yan are outstanding educators, kind, and very wise. They have the vision for the future. The hospitality of the students was unforgettable. I always felt appreciated and cared for. I met so many students who touched my heart with their enthusiasm and love. They are smart, work hard, and are devoted to their studies. I was impressed with their dedication.

My final night I attended an unforgettable student party of music, dancing and games. It made me feel so young! I feel I have made many new friends at Dunhuang college and I hope we will continue to deepen our relationship. I wish for our paths to cross for many years to come. I want to be a part of the great work happening at Dunhuang college.  

The Mogao Caves cannot be described in words. Their beauty and cultural significance is unmatched and is being acknowledged by the world. The simple beauty of Ming Sha Mountain and the Crescent Lake must be experienced and savored.  Thousands and even millions of visitors will be coming to Dunhuang over the next several years and I’m grateful for the chance to visit you. It was my honor to come and sing for you, to encourage you all to work hard, play hard, and prepare for a successful future!

敦煌的魅力

    作为一位美国人，我第一次访问敦煌就被这座美丽的城市震撼了。令人难忘的文化遗产，还有敦煌学院里认真且富有奉献精神的学生们。在敦煌的每一天我都能感受到美妙的变化，感受到有东西在生长，在建造。虽然现在很多人还看不到，但是我相信，有一天世界将会看到这座神奇的城市以及它所拥有的一切。

    我在敦煌大学认识的每一个人都证实了这种感觉，在尽职尽责的教职工中，在主修旅游、艺术、舞蹈和动画的学生的热情中，都可以看到这一点。

    田院长、罗副院长、Ray和闫老师都是非常优秀的教育专家, 亲切善良而又博学多才。我可以感受到他们对未来的展望和憧憬。学生们的热情好客真令人难忘，我受到无微不至的关怀，对此感激不尽。我遇到了很多学生, 他们的热情和温暖深深地打动了我的心，并且他们对于学业的刻苦努力也让我印象深刻。

    最后一晚, 我参加了学生们的聚会，有音乐、舞蹈和游戏，这真是一个令人难忘的夜晚。我觉得我又回到了年轻的时候！我在敦煌学院结交了很多新的朋友，真心希望能够继续加深我们之间的友谊。我也会尽最大的努力为敦煌学院的建设发展添砖加瓦。

    敦煌莫高窟不能用言语来形容。它们的美丽和文化意义是无与伦比的、是世界认可的。广袤辽阔的鸣沙山和月牙泉, 一定要细细品味。我相信在未来的几年里, 成千上万的游客将会来到敦煌，领略到这座城市的魅力与神奇。

    最后我很感激能有机会拜访你们，也很荣幸为你们唱歌, 鼓励大家努力工作, 享受生活, 并为未来的成功做好准备!
